Dave
Paetkau

The Yale Softball Academy is very fortunate to have Dave work with our students. Dave brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the program. He is currently the hitting and outfield coach for the Canadian Women's national team as well as the owner of Abbotsford's own Powerzone Academy indoor training center since 2003.  In 2008-2009 Dave was head coach of Denmark's men's national team and coached the 2005 Team BC at the Canada Summer Games.

Dave is a member of Softball Canada's long term player development committee and has been a coaching facilitator for the Competitive development coaching program since 2013.

Dave is also an accomplished Softball player.  Some of his ball career highlights include:  

• ISF World Champion in 1992, Silver Medal in 1996

• Pan Am Games Gold Medalist 1991 & 1995

• 8 year member of Canadian Men's National Fastpitch Team

• Canadian National Championship: 1 Gold, 3 Silver, 3 Bronze

• 2 Time ISC All-World Team, 2 Time All Canadian Team

• Inducted into Saskatchewan Sports Hall of Fame 

 
 

Jen
Schreyer

Ms. Schreyer is the teacher/director of the Softball Academy as well as a pitching instructor. Jen has been playing softball all her life and has a great passion for the game. She received a scholarship in 2003 to pitch for Simon Fraser University where she played for four years winning 4 regional championships and the NAIA national championship in 2005.  Jen was named to the region 1 all-star team in 2007 and pitched a perfect game in her senior season. After university Jen spent two summers playing professionally in Europe for the Vienna Wanderers in Austria and in Valencia, Spain for Antorcha. She was named most valuable pitcher of the Spanish League for the 2008 season. Jen brings a wealth of pitching experience and has been working with pitchers in Manitoba, BC and internationally since 2005.  She is a NCCP Certified CANPitch pitching instructor. 

Jen has worked with the academy since 2009.

 
 

DJ
Boschmann

DJ Boschmann joins the Yale Softball Academy instructional staff as a hitting instructor and all around good guy.  Famous for his playoff day socks, DJ brings a wealth of knowledge and playing experience from his baseball days playing in the PBL for the Abbotsford Cardinals Program.  After high school DJ went on to DH and/or play first base for the Grayson County College Vikings in Texas for two years.  He also played in the WMBL for the Lethbridge Bulls for the 2013 seaon.  DJ was a part of the Yale Baseball Academy in 2011 but quickly realized that girls listen better and made the switch to the softball side. He has also instructed for Sandlot Baseball and Powerzone Academy, two of Abbotsford's outstanding baseball and softball facilities. He is currently the head coach for the Fraser Valley Fusion 2001 team and has been a part of the Softball academy since 2015. 

 
 

Charlotte
Dolan

The Yale Softball Academy is thrilled to have Charlotte Dolan on staff to work with our catchers. Charlotte grew up playing with the Surrey Storm organization who she won a national championship with in 2007.  That same year she made the junior national team and competed in the ISF junior world championships. In 2008 she was a member of the gold medal winning BC Provincial Team at the Canada Summer Games.  In 2009 she won a national championship with the White Rock Renegades and was also named to the Senior Women's National Team.  She received a scholarship to catch for UCLA Bruins and in 2010 was named to the All-Pac 10 Freshmen honourable mention team. Since then Charlotte has been coaching and giving lessons to young athletes to share her passion and knowledge for catching.  

Charlotte has worked with the academy since 2013.
